A guide who knows Portugal inside out
My name is Miguel Pinto, and I'm a local tour guide and tourism professional with a genuine passion for my country.
I love history, culture and adventure, but above all I love meeting people from around the world and sharing Portugal with them. With thousands of years of history, stunning landscapes and a rich culture, Portugal is a fascinating country to explore. History and heritage have always been my particular passion, from the fairytale palaces of Sintra to the Knights Templar castles of Tomar.
Over the years, guiding has given me countless memorable moments with travelers from all over the world. Many of those days turned into more than 250 five-star reviews on Viator, earned on tours I personally guided while working with other established tour companies.
Today, through boojieTours, I bring that experience to something more personal: private tours from Lisbon, built around you. I share the Portugal I know and love, one day at a time.

My favorite place in PortugalList Item 1
It's hard to pick just one, so I'll cheat and choose three. Sintra never stops surprising me: every palace and garden feels like stepping into a fairytale. Nazaré is pure Atlantic power, a traditional fishing town facing some of the biggest waves on the planet. And Tomar feels like a secret, with its Templar castle and the Convent of Christ, one of the most impressive monuments in Portugal.

The story I love telling the mostList Item 2
The Knights Templar and Portugal's Age of Discovery. When the Templars were dissolved across Europe in the 14th century, Portugal protected them under a new name: the Order of Christ, based in Tomar. Its wealth later helped Prince Henry the Navigator fund the voyages that took Portuguese sailors around the world. That's why the red cross of the Order appears on the sails of the caravels. Standing inside the Templar round church in Tomar and telling this story never gets old.

My must-try Portuguese foodList Item 3
Fish and seafood, no question. Portugal has one of the longest coastlines in Europe, and it shows on the plate: grilled sardines, seafood rice, clams in garlic and coriander, and of course bacalhau, our beloved salted cod. In Nazaré, you can still see fish drying in the sun on the beach, the traditional way. Ask me on the tour, and I'll tell you where the locals eat.
